Mt Warning!

Here are some pics of the NSW coast on our weekend trip south.

Brunswick Heads.

Byron Bay - we found it too yuppy and touristy but now we can say we've been there.

Like the view of the "hills".

Well the signs says it all really, park your car here cos thieves operate here.

This is a waterfall and there is no water at all due to the drought but the rock was cool, be pretty good place to abseil from but no where to anchor off.

This is us at the top of Mt Warning. The name sounded cool and people told us that it was steep and hard. It is apparently a 5 hour trip and we got to the top in 1.5 hours (guys at tourist info. did not believe us and said we ran it) and we were not going fast, we were enjoying spotting the brush turkeys, and photo below is off the last 5 mins of rock scrambling, the chain is not necessary as there are great rock holds and all that, Mt beerwah is much harder and it has rock scrambling that almost requires a rope climb. We nicknamed this hill Mt Soft, but it was a fantastic day out, our legs got some action and the view of the Tweed Valley and surrounding hills and coast were great. Just plain old great to be outdoors again!

Michelle posing trying to make the rock look steeper!

Large lizard friend.

Mt Soft itself.

This is great bush camping and having a fire, good on ya NSW parks people.

Brush turkey - we were fascinated by the first one but turned out to be a few!

You can just see the tip of the Gold Coast high rise buildings upper right. Those mountains are on the border between QLD and NSW.
