Briar 'n'boots

Here is my gorgeous niece Briar playing with my Makalu boots.
She's been watching me pack for Nepal. We are on in 7 days - sooooooooo exciting. We will be there for 2 months. We are going to the Annapurna, Chitwan, Gokyo and Everest regions! Wahoo. So next blog will be in December!

Mt Beerwah

The shadow of Mt Beerwah.

The Glasshouse Mountains. Brisbane City is on the far horizon.

This is Michelle's brother Nathan, Dave, bro-in-law Ben, Michelle, and Debbie (Nathans wife). Nathan and Debbie flew over from NZ for the weekend to SURPRISE Ben and Fiona. Boy were they surprised. Then we were made to get up at 3.30am to climb Beerwah a sunrise summit. Now for Aussie, Beerwah is quite a tough little mountain, although there is no snow, its almost vertical rock scrambling for long sections. The kind of rock where you feel like its borderline rock climbing without a rope. Michelle did this a few years ago piece of cake but this time felt it was scarier, maybe because this time we climbed in the dark. Beerwah is the home of Croc Hunter Steve Irwin's famous Zoo.
